The Hades 2 trailer gave away few details about the dungeon crawler's mythological plot, but the sequel will definitely be a direct follow-up to the first game's true ending where Olympus and Underworld reunite. The upcoming sequel will follow Melinoë as she ventures down into the Underworld to battle her grandfather Chronos, with the full might of Olympus behind her in her mission.Īs such, the game will add new gods such as Apollo, as such we can likely expect more beings from the Underworld as well. Now Hades 2 will see his sister Melinoé journey down into the land of the dead to face her grandfather Chronos, effectively flipping the first game's script. Hades can technically be played forever, but reaching certain milestones does bring an end to the story of Zagreus and his attempts to escape the Underworld. Getting to the true ending of Hades is a nerve-wracking experience that takes massive dedication with the journey being filled with a lot of frustration and several hours of gameplay. So was its stunning visual style and superb voice cast. The roguelike’s unique take on Greek mythology, procedurally generated, slow-burning plot, and character growth was a welcome change of pace. Hades was one of the finest games to come out in 2020, so it is no wonder that when developer Supergiant Games revealed the trailer for the sequel in the Game Awards on December 8, it caused quite a stir.
